According to our news affiliate, FOX 17, Mayor John Cooper announced that TDOT *Tennessee Department of Transportation* has approved closing Broadway, in downtown Nashville, to traffic on weekend nights!
John Cooper made the announcement during a news briefing on Thursday morning. He stated:
TDOT approved the closure again this weekend and through the end of September. It's a pilot project, we're trying to decluster crowds
Closing Broadway to traffic on weekend nights will allow for more space for social distancing while waiting in line for the bars located on Broadway. Apparently the plan is to close Broadway from 4th to 5th avenue from 6PM -11PM on Friday & Saturday nights through the end of September.
