A woman in California won big... kinda.
She won $26-million with a lottery ticket she bought from a convenience store she frequents. The problem is that she put the ticket in her pocket and then washed her clothes, destroying the possible winning ticket.
The store clerks know her and have surveillance footage of her buying a ticket. The issue is that they're not sure how to prove that was THE WINNING ticket. A spokesperson for the California lottery said that the woman has yet to contact her office about the mishap (as far as she knows), but if she does then there will be a full investigation and that the video of her buying the ticket is not enough proof to give her the winnings.
