Facebook Is Changing Their Name

Facebook has decided to rebrand.

It has been announced that a new name is in their future. No word yet on what the name will be as even employees in senior positions don't know what direction they'll go in with the new name. Some say it may be something in relation to the "metaverse" they're creating-- an online play place essentially, where people can shop, hang out, and experience real life activities but do so online.

It's believed that Mark Zuckerberg, the creator and CEO of Facebook, will announce the new name on October 28th at their Facebook Connect conference.

This total rebrand comes not long after a whistleblower let it be known jus how toxic Facebook is. Frances Haugen, former employee turned whistleblower, testified to a U.S. Senate subcommittee earlier this month about the decisions Facebook made that heavily impacted society from Facebook’s algorithm intentionally showing users things to make them angry to the documents stating that 13.5% of teen girls say Instagram makes thoughts of suicide worse and 17% say it makes their eating disorders worse.
