Vols Fans Raise Over $300k For Zakai Zeigler After Home Ruined In Fire

Fans of the Tennessee Volunteers came together for one of their basketball players in need.

Zeigler's family apartment home, in Queens NY, caught fire last month. The fire started on the second floor and took over the entirety of the building. All his family got out of the fire safe, but Zeigler's mom and his special-needs 4-year-old nephew lost all of their belongings. This includes his nephew's wheelchair, splints and other equipment needed to function daily.

The Vols knew they had to help so they created a GoFundMe account to raise $50k for him and his family.

"Our administration did a terrific job. Once they got the news they jumped on it and got after it," Vols head coach Rick Barnes.

Within hours, thousands of people donated to the cause... currently totaling over $300k.

He thanked supporters in a tweet saying, "The outpouring of support has been unbelievable! We’ll get through this. All love, #VolNation!!"
