Woman Fights DMV For Her Right To Have A License Plate That Says 'FART'

A woman in North Carolina has thought of a master plan to keep her outrageous vanity plate.

Karly Sindy was approved for a vanity license plate that reads "FART." But months later she was contacted by DMV about complaints being made. She had to write to them about what the license plate means to her in order to keep it.

That's when her and her friends came up with a plan. They'd start a group called the "Friends of Asheville Recreational Trails", or F.A.R.T. They have a mailing list, a website, and merchandise. The group recently had their first meeting where 15 people showed up.

She's been allowed to keep the plate.
