This year's MTV Music Awards will have a new metaverse category.
There will be a moon person for the "Best Metaverse Performance." These types of performances have been in the works for quite a while so when the pandemic happened, plenty of artists jumped right on the opportunity to perform in that space. Now it seems they're here to stay!
The nominees for the 2022 "Best Metaverse Performance" are Ariana Grande, BLACKPINK, BTS, Charli XCX, Justin Bieber, and Twenty One Pilots.
The MTV Video Music Awards will air tomorrow night at 7 PM CT.
