All YouTube channels will be getting a specific handle attached to their account, much like TikTok or Instagram.
YouTube says will make it easier for creators to reach audiences and increase visibility as the handle can be used to mention others in comments, video descriptions, titles, and more. Since the handle will be unique to every account, it may also cut down on imposter accounts.
Starting this week, they will slowly start to roll this change out so some people will get to choose before others. Those who are chosen first are based on factors like overall presence on the platform, subscriber count, and whether the channel is active.
