The Making of "Shape of You"

Did you know that Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" is the most streamed song EVER on Spotify? And spent the most weeks EVER on the Billboard Top 10? And was originally written for someone else? Well, now you know!

Its hard to imagine "Shape of You" being performed by anyone other than Ed, but apparently he didn't want to use the song for himself. He wanted to give it away to someone else until someone from his label suggested he keep it...and thank God they did!

What's even crazier is that on the same day he wrote Shape of You", he wrote songs for Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Liam Payne. I can't even write half a song and he wrote 3 songs in only a few hours!

I could ramble on and on about how cool the writing process was and how I have a new-found appreciation for the song, but you'd probably rather hear it from Ed.

He recently sat down with The New York Times and the co-writers on the song to give us an in-depth look into the writing process. You can check it out below, but be prepared to have your mind blown!
