Morgan's Wonderland in San Antonio, Texas has recently been praised for its inclusiveness as a wheelchair-accessible park for children with special needs!
As you can imagine, visiting a water park with a special needs child isn't easy, but Morgan's Wonderland provides a safe place to play for these kids!
The park was created by Gordon and Maggie Hartman after they watched their special needs child, Morgan, try to play with other kids in a water park on vacation. The other kids were leery of her and didn't seem to want to play with her, so they made the decision right there that they would open a park where kids with and without disabilities could play together!
The park opened in April 2010 and became the world's first theme park designed specifically with special-needs children in mind!
Over the last 8 years, the park has been bringing smiles to the faces of kids visiting from all over the world!
