Let me just start by saying that I am about as "basic" as they get when it comes to fall. I love bonfires, cozy sweaters, anything and everything Halloween, and of course, Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Yes, I know its technically not fall until September 22nd, but as soon as August hit, I immediately started craving the PSL deliciousness. So of course I had to look it up.
That's when I came across the official Pumpkin Spice Latte twitter. Yes, OFFICIAL. I can't get verified on twitter but a damn drink can? Its fine...its fine...I get it.
According to their most recent tweet, PSL is modeling for the "Leaf Rakers Society" on Facebook. What is that you ask? According to their Facebook, its
A safe place for a) pumpkins b) year-round scarf-wearers c) those who would rather work on their Halloween costume than their tan d) members of the Great Pumpkinwatch 2017 Facebook group. This group serves as a forum where we constructively work together with Mother Nature to help Autumn arrive earlier in the calendar year.
So basically I've gotten two things out of this...
1) This is a group I need to join
2) PSLs will arrive earlier this year!
How did I come to that conclusion? The page, presumably run by Starbucks, says its goal is to "work together with Mother Nature to help Autumn arrive EARLIER in the calendar year"
So when did Pumpkin Spice Lattes return in 2017? Based on my research, it was available starting September 5th.
According to other PSL web sleuths, it appears that it might be returning as early as August 28th! How they got to that conclusion, I have no idea, but I'm really freakin' excited!
Catch me out there bein' the first person in line when it finally comes back!
