We've all screwed up emails before, right? I can't tell you how many times I've sent an email saying "see attached" and then completely forgotten to attach anything. But I can honestly say that I've never messed up as badly as Zoey Oxley.
Zoey is a freshman at Ohio University. She was just trying to be a good student and turn her assignment in when something went terribly wrong.
While writing her paper, Oxley forgot her professor's name. So instead of writing his name, she used a nickname as a placeholder and intended to replace it with his actual name before submitting her assignment.
So what was the nickname? "Professor whats his nuts"....
And did she remember to replace it before hitting send? NOPE!
After realizing her mistake, she emailed her professor, Professor Hendel, to apologize:
"Professor Hendel, I am writing this email very embarrassingly. As I began writing my paper, I wrote out the template. Unfortunately, I could not remember your last name, so I filled it with something completely unprofessional. It was my intention to change the name before submission, but it completely slipped my mind."
That's embarrassing enough, right? Well it gets worse. Her professor tweeted about it afterward!
So basically Zoey has to drop out of school, move across the country, and start a new life. There's no coming back from this.
