On Wednesday, the Cheesecake Factory and DoorDash had the brilliant idea of offering 40,000 FREE slices of cheesecake to customers. Yes, it was great in theory, but it ended so, so badly. Honestly, it was very reminiscent of the time that Build-a-Bear offered a "pay your age" promotion.
Everything started off pretty normal, but it quickly turned to madness. Massive crowds of delivery drivers arrived at Cheesecake Factory locations all across the country, which led to police and paramedics to arrive on the scenes.
But that wasn't the craziest thing to happen. Police appear to have told everyone to leave the restaurant, but one person refused to follow commands. After struggling with officers, the suspect was eventually arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
The arrest incident was obviously the most dramatic, but long lines were seen all across the country which is INSANE. I love free food, but dang....idk if I'd wait in these lines!
