Well guys...the death of Toys R Us didn't last long! It looks like a former Toys R Us executive, Richard Barry, is planning reinvent the company. He is now the CEO of Tru Kids Inc.
According to an interview with the Associated Press, Barry says that he and his team are still in the planning process, but options could include freestanding stores and/or shops in pre-existing stores.
As of January 20th, Barry and other former execs now manage the Toys R Us, Babies R Us, and Geoffrey brands. They also created the new Tru Kids brand.
The new brand will focus a lot on e-commerce as well as in-store "experiences".The company plans to open about 70 or so stores in 2019 across Asia, India, and Europe.
