Recently, Channing Smith, a Coffee County Central High School student, took his own life after enduring endless cyber bullying. To honor his memory, many students wore blue and purple for suicide prevention at the school's Homecoming pep rally.
The entire city has come together to mourn Channing's passing over the last week, even creating a new mural in his memory. The mural incorporates a beautiful portrait of Channing with the words "You Are Not Alone" and the suicide prevention hotline number (1-800-273-TALK).
