Amazon has taken the hassle out of A LOT of things and made shopping so much easier. Now, it looks like they're on track to take the hassle out of online dating...well...maybe. This week, Amazon appeared to release a new service called "Amazon Dating" where you can shop for a date and even take advantage of prime shipping!
Turns out, its all a hoax! Amazon Dating, which was created by Ani Acopian, Suzy Shinn, Morgan Gruer, and Thinko, lets you click through to see "hot singles near you". When you select a person, you can view their "product description" which includes their age, height, love language, and a little more about them.
The creators were clearly dedicated to the joke, because they paid attention to every little detail! The "products" even include reviews! Matan, age 37, received a 4 out of 5 star review, with my favorite review being:
"It won't blow anyone away during a get together in your living room but it'll get the job done."
Once again showing their commitment to the elaborate hoax, one of the creators has even tweeted pictures of "ads" seen out on the streets.
My absolute FAVORITE part of the whole website is that if you click on the "Your Last Relationship" tab, it takes you to the classic Birtney Spears video for Toxic ☠️
Obviously, this is all a joke, but to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon jumps on the online dating train. I mean, if Facebook is doing it...what's to stop Amazon?
