Wow I have so many memories with Baby Phat.
Literally all thru middle school and high school it seemed like Baby Phat was one of the IT brands to wear, right?
Growing up my parents could never really afford to get me all the Baby Phat clothes I dreamed of but luckily that's where the swap meet saved the day.
Recently FUBU announced that it’ll be making a resurgence and now Kimora Lee Simmons has announced that Baby Phat is also making a comeback.
Simmons sold Baby Phat to Kellwood Apparel in 2004, however, two years later she returned as the brand president but was removed from the position abruptly in 2010.
Now she’s got her company back and is ready to make moves.
"We had to hunt around for it," she told WWD. "[...] It's perfect timing for this. Over the past several years, we realized the brand resonates with people and lives deep in their souls."
Baby Phat is set to relaunch in the Spring of 2019 and will mix retro Baby Phat styles with “modern elements” for millennials.
Which 90s fashion line do you hope follows FUBU and Baby Phat back to the retail market?
