I'm SO happy MTV decided to share some very rare footage of Aaliyah from their archives.
The video shows Aaliyah talking about her final self-titled album, Aaliyah which was released 18 years ago this week.
MTV tweeted the clip from Aaliyah's 2001 Diary episode. Honestly the clip gives me chills, not only because she's so legendary but because she just had this essence that is so rare.
Aaliyah died one month after her self-titled album was released. The interview originally aired two weeks before her tragic plane crash.
