The Disney Channel just aired its first ever same-sex kiss.
The moment happened on an episode of Star VS The Forces of Evil, an animated TV series about a girl who battles space villains [while simultaneously trying to navigate high school].

Disney will also feature its first (openly?) gay character in the live-action remake of Beauty & the Beast, according to Bill Condon, the film's director.
Condon told Attitude magazine that Gaston's sidekick, LeFou, will find his own subplot by exploring his sexuality.
"LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston," Condon said. "He's confused about what he wants. It's somebody who's just realizing that he has these feelings."
i always knew that lefou was gay for gaston but im glad disney is finally recognizing it— pooka💕 (@Cars2Official) March 1, 2017
However, not everyone is happy about the fact that Disney chose Le Fou as its first openly gay character.
Why did Disney pick Lefou to be the first gay character when Cogsworth and Lumiere are literally RIGHT THERE— Kim Guse (@KimmGucci) March 2, 2017
Disney to make its first openly gay character Le Fou... a caricature comic-relief pining after the straight muscular guy... pic.twitter.com/qGJP21e91X— Blair Mitch Project (@scoutthehorizon) March 2, 2017
How gay individuals feel about the Lefou news is more important than how any straight person feels about it and we all need to remember that— Sarah Snitch (@SarahSnitch) March 1, 2017

disney: it's le fou!
To the movie executives who made Lefou gay: A badly thought out stereotype is just as bad, if not worse, than no gay representation at all.— Arnar Heiðmar (@ArnarTheWriter) March 1, 2017
How do YOU feel about all of this?
