James Blunt's 2004 hit song "You're Beautiful" has long-since been celebrated as one of the most romantic to ever hit the charts.
But in a recent interview, Blunt revealed that the track is anything but.
"Everyone goes, 'Ah, he's so romantic. I want 'You're Beautiful' as my wedding song.' These people are f***ed up," the singer told Huffington Post. "You get labeled with these things like, 'Oh, James Blunt. Isn't he just a soft romantic?' Well, f*** that. No, I'm not."
So what is the real meaning of "You're Beautiful", you ask?
"'You're Beautiful' is not this soft romantic f***ing song. It's about a guy who's high as a f***ing kite on drugs in the subway, stalking someone else's girlfriend when that guy is there in front of him, and he should be locked up or put in prison for being some kind of perv," Blunt said.
....um. What?!
With Blunt's comments in mind, the lyrics do have a whole new
[and totally creepy]
vibe.
My life is brilliant, my love is pure
I saw an angel of that I'm sure
She smiled at me on the subway
She was with another man
But I won't lose no sleep on that
'Cause I've got a plan
Chorus:
You're beautiful, you're beautiful
You're beautiful, it's true
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
'Cause I'll never be with you
Now you know -- "You're Beautiful" is not sweet.
...It's a stalker anthem.
What do you think about this revelation?!
