TN Representative Mike Stewart hosted a "Lemonade & AK-47 Sale" in downtown Nashville Wednesday morning in an effort to illustrate loopholes in the state's gun laws. "We're trying to make sure that people understand that in the state of TN, unless we change our laws, you can sell an AK-47 -- no background check, no ID check -- right here on the street. It's perfectly legal. I bought this weapon in a parking lot last night. I just don't think it should be as easy to buy an AK-47 as it is to buy lemonade and cookies," Stewart told a reporter.
Stewart is presenting HB1319 -- a bill designed to close the "armslist/private seller loophole -- later this morning.
What do you think about all of this?
