The ABC network is set to premiere its remake of Dirty Dancing on Wednesday, May 24 -- and the first teaser trailer has finally been released!
Abigail Breslin will star as Frances Houseman [AKA Baby], with Colt Prattes taking on the role of Johnny Castle.
Tbr, there is actually quite a bit of star power attached to this project.
Sarah Hyland, Debra Messing, Katey Sagal, Trevor Einhorn, Nicole Scherzinger and Billy Dee Williams are all part of the cast, too.
(Honestly, casting Nicole [the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls] was genius. She's literally got the whole dirty dancing thing down.)
Debra Messing recently dropped a few hints to People about what we can expect from the TV version.
"This isn't a replica of the original. This takes some liberties," she said. "It has the DNA of the original, but you are going to find out what happened to Baby and Johnny after that summer ended. So there's some additional surprises in there that are new."
