One of the things covered on SNL's Weekend Update segment Saturday night was Donald Trump's tweet complaining that Kim Jong Un had called him "old".
I literally thought this tweet had come from a parody account, but nope. It's legit.
Why would Kim Jong-un insult me by calling me "old," when I would NEVER call him "short and fat?" Oh well, I try so hard to be his friend - and maybe someday that will happen!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 12, 2017
President Trump appeared to be responding to a statement from North Korea's foreign ministry Saturday, which warned that "Reckless remarks by an old lunatic like Trump will never scare us or stop our advance."
[The ministry was reacting to Trump's speech in South Korea last week, in which the president warned North Korea not to test the resolve of the US and its allies.]
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has since explained: “I think that that was the President just responding the way he does to somebody who insulted him first".
Kim Jong Un: You’re old.— PROUD RESISTER 👊 (@ProudResister) November 12, 2017
Donald Trump: You’re short and fat.
Translation: I’m rubber and you’re glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you.
