Taylor Swift gave somewhat of a surprise performance on Monday night's episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon, who just returned after grieving the loss of his mother, took to Twitter to tell viewers that although Swift hadn't been scheduled to appear, she would be there as his musical guest.
Apparently it was all so that she could help him honor his mama. [I'm not crying, you're crying!]
You see, there's a lyric in Taylor's song New Years Day -- squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi -- and that was Fallon's thing with his mom. Squeezing each other's hand three times to say 'I love you'.
Taylor singing the “squeeze my hand 3 times” line right after Jimmy told that story about his mom must have been so emotional. He was so touched. @taylorswift13 you everything you do is with such poise and grace. I love you so much #LookWhatYouMadeFallonDo— Jackie (@jackief_13) November 14, 2017
Taylor is such an angel for coming to do the show without scheduling and performing a song so fitting and beautiful for Jimmy after his mom's passing. People who call her selfish and heartless just refuse to see the parts of her that do this for a friend. #LookWhatYouMadeFallonDo— Na'ama (@Naama_Swift) November 14, 2017
