Since Titanic just celebrated its 20 year anniversary, Steven Colbert grilled Kate Winslet (aka Rose) about the film when she appeared as a guest on The Late Show last week.
In addition to sharing a few secrets behind the movie's StEaMiEsT scene...
...she also revealed that she originally auditioned for the film opposite MATTHEW EFFING MCCONAUGHEY!!!! [can you even imagine?]
Okay, MAYBE he could have been a decent Jack Dawson. He's got the broody, sexy thing down.
In the end, McConaughey was offered the role of Cal, Rose's evil fiance.
(Obviously, he turned it down.)
