Aly Raisman is just one of several women who have participated in Sports Illustrated's new franchise, In Her Own Words.
According to the SI website, In Her Own Words "is a continuation and evolution of the essence of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit. It is a platform that allows the voice, the strength and the passion of these women to be expressed in the rawest form…on the naked body…with all the artistic and creative control left to them. With a stripped down studio and team of all females, we handed over the control to the women who are our brand. We believed in, supported and encouraged them to become a canvas and share their truth."
“I hope that we can one day get to a point where everyone realizes that women do not have to be modest to be respected. We are free to draw confidence and happiness in our own way, and it is never for someone else to choose for us or to even judge us for that matter," Aly told SI.
Raisman -- who just confronted her abuser Larry Nassar in court just weeks ago -- chose to write "Live 4 You" and "Trust Yourself" (among other things) on her body for the shoot.

What do you think of In Her Own Words?
Proud of Aly Raisman for her testimony and work with victims of abuse where the church has failed and most of all her faith. But a SI nude photo spread to highlight the MeToo movement is a mixed message no matter how many times you use the word empowered.— Diddley Squät (@Diddley_Squat) February 13, 2018
@Aly_Raisman is such a great role model. I’m obsessed with her and how she uses her status. Brava!! 😍😍😍— Michael Thomas (@mjthomas7980) February 13, 2018
