George & Amal Clooney Donate $500,000 to Student Led 'March For Our Lives'

posted by Savannah -

George & Amal Clooney have donated half a million dollars to March For Our Lives.

March For Our Lives is the upcoming demonstration in Washington D.C. protesting gun-violence, organized by survivors of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

"Our family will be there on March 24 to stand side by side with this incredible generation of young people from all over the country, and in the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we're donating $500,000 dollars to help pay for this groundbreaking event. Our children's lives depend on it," George's statement read.

It didn't take long for other entertainment industry leaders to follow the Clooney's example -- Oprah Winfrey included.

....And if you missed our interview with Abby Brafman, the MSD High graduate/Vanderbilt student organizing March For Our Lives Nashville, listen in below.

This morning @woodyandjimshow had a graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in the studio to discuss March For Our Lives Nashville. She got this tattoo yesterday — the 17 represents her graduation year, and the number of lives lost in last week’s shooting. Link to our interview with her in bio!❤️❤️❤️ #NeverAgain #March4OurLives
