Kelly Clarkson served as host for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards -- and she opened the show with a tearful plea for viewers to take meaningful action against gun violence.
The emotional moment comes after Friday’s shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas, which killed ten people and injured thirteen others.
“I'm so sick of moments of silence," she said while fighting back tears. "It's not working."
"We need to do better. We’re failing our children, we’re failing our communities, we’re failing their families," Clarkson continued. "I have four children, I cannot imagine getting that phone call or that knock on the door. Let’s have a moment of action, let’s have a moment of change."
