There's a medical historian named Lindsey Fitzharris who freaked everyone tf out by sharing the stories of two doctors who removed their own appendixes. One of the guys, Leonid Ivanovich Rogozov had little choice, as he was the only doctor on an expedition to Antarctica and was experiencing symptoms of appendicitis.
The other dude, Evan O'Neill Kane, seemed to just be straight up crazy. LOL [jk, kinda]!
