Kanye West is making headlines again after visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night.
Jimmy and Yeezy talked about everything from mental health to pornography -- but the interview was largely centered on Kanye's support of President Donald Trump.
"Everyone around me tried to pick my candidate for me, and then told me every time I said I liked Trump that I couldn't say it out loud or my career would be over," Kanye told Kimmel. "I'd get kicked out of the black community because blacks are supposed to have a monolithic thought — we can only be Democrats and all.... And it took me a year-and-a-half to have the confidence to stand up and put on the hat...Liberals can't bully me, news can't bully me, the hip-hop community, they can't bully me. At that point, if I'm afraid to be me, I'm no longer Ye. That's what makes Ye. I actually quite enjoy when people actually are mad at me about certain things," he continued.
Jimmy -- who has famously had tons of Twitter beef with POTUS -- then asked a question that seemed to leave Kanye speechless.
Kimmel: "You so famously said George Bush doesn't care about black people. It makes me wonder what makes you think that Donald Trump does... or any people at all?"— Shake (@dopeboySHAKE) August 10, 2018

Jimmy Kimmel set you up for that interview. You should do like Donald Trump & approve the questions beforehand. It would save you some troubles. I think you did awesome Kanye! #loveisallweneed
it’s so nice to see the criticisms of this whole kanye situation brought face to face, kanye likes trump as a person and is completely ignorant and clueless on policies and politics. when he’s approached about actual policies he has no response— Jacob (@TheAgeOfThanos) August 10, 2018

Reactions to the interview have been mixed. What are your thoughts?
Thank you Jimmy. What makes Kanye think Trump cares about black ppl? And not just black people but lots of other communities. Love is great. But we all need to be concerned with his actions.— Megan Williams (@MeganIWilliams) August 10, 2018
Me and my dad just watched Kanye on Jimmy Kimmel and my dad said he liked what kanye was saying #likefatherlikeson— Mohamed (@NoChillMo) August 10, 2018
So Kanye basically just said on Jimmy Kimmel he endorsed Trump to prove to ppl that they don’t control him. Must be nice to be able to endorse someone who’s policies will hurt ppl because you’re so wealthy and entitled you know they won’t affect you...All just to prove a point.— Mardy Marvel (@MardyMarvel) August 10, 2018
