Huge news has come out of the music industry this morning, as Taylor Swift announced that she has left Big Machine and signed a new deal with Universal Music Group -- more specifically, Republic Records.
The deal came with one condition that Taylor stated "meant more" to her than any other deal point. Swift apparently asked that any sale of their Spotify shares result in a distribution of money to their artists, non-recoupable. Obviously, because T-Swift is all powerful, they agreed to it.
