On a new episode of David Letterman's Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, beloved comedian and TV-host Ellen DeGeneres opened up about being sexually abused by her stepfather as a teenager.
[Ellen told Letterman that when she was between the ages of 15 or 16, her stepdad would check her breasts for "lumps" -- using her mother's breast cancer diagnosis as an excuse to touch her inappropriately.]
Ellen also revealed that when she attempted to tell her mother, Betty, she was not believed.
Betty DeGeneres is speaking publicly on the claims for the first time, via a statement provided to NBC News.
