Queen of Instagram Selena Gomez just became the latest celebrity to step into the cosmetics world, announcing that her own make-up line Rare Beauty will launch in North America this summer.
Gomez told fans that she's been working on this for two years, and that Rare Beauty will be available ~*ExCLuSiVeLy*~ at Sephora. “We will go globally next year,” she said, adding, “I want your help to build the brand, because I want it to be real — real stories, real people.”
Selena has reportedly brought former executives from NYX Cosmetics, Too Faced & The Honest Co. to help her in this endeavor.
“We’ve hired talent that brings decades of beauty experience from leading prestige and professional makeup brands to execute Selena’s vision,” Rare Beauty CEO Scott Friedman told news outlets. “Rare Beauty will challenge society’s definition of beauty that impacts our self worth. It’s time to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness. Everyone is different — and that’s a good thing.”
