Feeling pretty happy right now -- because my girl Sabrina Carpenter just announced that she's taking over the role of Cady Heron in the broadway version of Mean Girls!
And while Sabrina is a seasoned entertainer [I mean hello, she came from the ~*DiSnEy MaChiNe*~], this show will be the first time she's ever performed on broadway.
“It’s crazy,” she told People. “....I definitely have been dreaming of this in a big way since I was a little girl. I always knew that one day I wanted to do it, I just didn’t know when it would happen."
Carpenter also noted that as a fan of the Mean Girls movie, the moment means even more. "...coming into this already knowing that I’m such a fan? And saying every one of those iconic lines? I can’t put it into words; it’s just going to be so thrilling. It brings a whole new energy into it for me.”
Sabrina's run starts at the August Wilson Theater in New York City from March 10th until June 7th.
