If you're not into spoilers...
Grey's Anatomy just lost one of its few remaining oRiGiNAL characters, as Justin Chambers [AKA Alex Karev] made the decision several months back to leave the show.
His farewell episode aired last night, and....
People are pissed.
You see, Alex didn't actually appear in the episode at all. Instead, his character explains in a series of letters that he left Seattle [and his current wife, Jo] to live....in Kansas...on a farm.... with FRICKIN' IZZIE STEVENS!!!
Izzie [portrayed by Katherine Heigl] left the show like a million years (okay technically 10 seasons) ago. According to Alex's letters, she secretly gave birth to their now 5-year-old twin children [Alexis and Eli], having used the embryos they froze together way back when she had cancer.
Grey's showrunner Krista Vernoff certainly didn't expect all the backlash, and took to Twitter to try and calm everyone the frick down. [Didn't work, obvi.]
But I mean, can anyone really say they're surprised? This show is infamous for extremely unfair, wild endings. [George getting hit by a bus, anyone? McDreamy getting hit by a semi-truck? Like wtf? MCDREAMY DESERVED BETTER!]
Anyway, there are a couple people who are on board with this happily ever after, even if it seems a bit far-fetched.
