Social justice is still an important topic especially with the killings of women like Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor and many more. The WNBA plans to honor victims of police and racial violence when they return to the courts, later this month.
“We are incredibly proud of WNBA players who continue to lead with their inspiring voices and effective actions in the league’s dedicated fight against systemic racism and violence,” WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said in the statement.
The players will wear special uniforms with the slogan "Say Her Name", along with the names like Sandra Bland, Breonna Taylor, Vanessa Guillen and other. Black Lives Matter will be prominently displayed on the court as well.
